Dr Nasir Iqbal

Dr Nasir Iqbal is an Associate Professor at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics. His area of specialization is trade, poverty, governance, design, policy and social protection. He has done his PhD in Economics. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), the premier research institute in Pakistan. In past, he was heading the research wing of Pakistan’s largest social protection program, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) as the Additional Director General. He has worked as Assistant Professor and Staff Economist at PIDE. He has led the design and implementation of macroeconomic models, graduation models, socioeconomic surveys, and data quality assurance, analysis, and reporting of the social protection programs, mainly BISP.
