
Project Manager/Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Project Manager/Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the project planning, implementation ensuring scientific rigor, and operational coordination for the research project. This role will ensure that all research activities are scientifically robust, executed efficiently, ethically, and in alignment with project goals, timelines, and funder requirements. This role will also involve administrative interface within the implementing organization as well as communication with international partners. This position will function as the Co-Site PI and report directly to the Pakistan PI on the grant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-lead and assist the design and execution of research project/s.
- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and maintain project documentation and ensure compliance as per grant conditions and proposed design (in discussion with the PI).
- Co-lead with the PI, discussions with the international partners and collaborators on matters pertaining to the science and methods of the research project/s.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and, if needed, with the funding agencies as well, under the guidance of the Pakistan PI.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.
- Lead all aspects of the research project, e.g, finalizing research protocols and SoPs, securing IRB approvals (national and international), developing a data management system, and overseeing data monitoring and consistency along with the PI.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and publications for local and international meetings/conferences.
- Supervise project staff, field operations, and logistics and provide mentorship.
- Support data collection, analyses, and dissemination activities.
- Assist the PI and the logistics team at the implementing organization with procurement and the overall approved budget of the grant/s.
- Organize training and supervision sessions of the field research teams.
- Any other task assigned by the line manager/PI.
Qualification & Experience:
- MPhil in Public Health/Public Mental Health.
- 10 years or more of experience conducting field research and coordinating international collaborative global mental health/global health projects in Pakistan.
- Experience in designing complex research studies, exploring maternal mental health and child/adolescent health in Pakistan. Having extensive experience of being involved in longitudinal/birth cohort or re-enrollment studies and community-based randomized trials.
- Experience of working on internationally funded collaborative research programs (e.g., NIH, NIMH, Wellcome).
- Extensive experience of working with the health systems of Pakistan, especially the Lady Health Workers Programme.
- Having 10 or more publications in internationally recognized impact factor-based peer-reviewed journals (have at least 1 publication which is 3*/4* as per REF standards).

- Experience of developing, designing and executing global health/global mental health research protocols and compliance.
- Strategic planning and project management skills and experience.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Data management and oversight.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, exhibit leadership qualities.
