Defeat Cancer Road Show “Paint Your Life Pink Again” launched in KMU Peshawar
As part of the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning’s (PILL) nationwide roadshow “Paint Your Life Pink Again”, an awareness seminar and walk were held at Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, to mark October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event featured insightful talks by Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli (Pro-Vice Chancellor, KMU), Dr. Amjad Ali (Director, KMU Hospital), and Dr. Zaini Azam (Senior Registrar, KMU Hospital), who highlighted the importance of early detection, timely treatment, and psychosocial support for breast cancer survivors.
Mr. Atta ur Rehman (Research Support Manager, PILL) shared details about PILL’s NIHR-funded project “Moving on After Breast Cancer Plus” (NIHR 205561) and the ongoing Defeat Cancer Campaign, which aims to reach 10 million people across Pakistan with awareness messages on prevention, early screening, and mental health support. Mian Atiq Ur Rehman (Lead, National Community Development) also spoke about PILL’s contributions to mental health research and community engagement across the country.
