Programme:

SABAR – Prevention & Management of Stillbirth and Neonatal Deaths

 In recognition of Nursing in Pakistan, Ishrat Husain and the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL) announced one fully funded MS Nursing scholarships across Pakistan. These scholarships are offered under the “SABAR” research programme, which is dedicated to evaluating wellbeing interventions for the prevention and management of stillbirth and neonatal deaths in Pakistan. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening nursing education, nurturing future leaders in healthcare, and addressing critical challenges in maternal and neonatal health.

 

We are inviting motivated and passionate candidates with a keen interest in maternal and infant health, as well as bereavement support, to apply.

 

Research Topics:

Applicants may choose to pursue their MS Nursing research in one of the following areas:

  • Antenatal Care: Strategies to increase antenatal contacts and enhance perinatal outcomes.
  • Maternal and Newborn Care: Interventions designed to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and newborns.
  • Intrapartum Care: Improving the quality of care provided during labour and delivery
  • BabySaver: Evaluation of innovative tools or approaches to reduce neonatal mortality
  • Community-Based Peer-Support Programmes: Supporting women who have experienced stillbirth and are living with co-morbidities (e.g., obstetric fistula).
  • Adolescent Childbirth Needs: Addressing the specific maternal care requirements and challenges faced by adolescent mothers.

Who can apply:

  • Currently enrolled in Year 1 of the MS Nursing programme in any University in Pakistan.
  • Candidates with an interest in intervention-based clinical trials, particularly in maternal and infant health.
  • Candidates who have not yet submitted their MSN synopsis (preference will be given to those with prior research experience).
  • Must be available for full-time study (2 years).
  • Strong communication and research skills are essential.

  • Provide a one-page research proposal outlining your proposed MSN research idea related to the topic mentioned in the list.
