PRADA Project Lab Visit
PILL PRADA team, along with the PRADA Project Manager (UK) Dr. James R. Larkin from the University of Oxford, visited the MDRL laboratory at the Molecular Medicine Laboratory, Ziauddin University on 09 June, 2026 to assess MDRL laboratory infrastructure readiness for the PRADA (Prescribing the Right Agent for Depression in Adults) project, funded by Wellcome Trust.
The visit focused on evaluating laboratory facilities, sample processing capacity, and overall infrastructure suitability to support biobanking and advanced pharmacogenomics workflows, including the planned installation of the Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform. Key discussions covered sample storage systems, technical infrastructure, environmental readiness, data storage solutions, and alignment of central data transfer protocols between the UK and Pakistan teams, alongside preparedness for molecular workflow implementation.
