Dr. Siham Sikander is a Research Fellow in Global Mental Health at the University of Liverpool and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, UK.
Education and Background:
Dr. Sikander graduated in medicine from Pakistan, completed his Psychiatry Fellowship in 2004, and earned his Doctorate from the University of Manchester in 2009.
Research Interests:
His work focuses on maternal mental health, early childhood development, and public health interventions in low-resource settings. He specializes in co-designed, scalable interventions utilizing community health workers and lay peers. Dr. Sikander also employs implementation science and randomized controlled trials for public health evaluations.
Teaching and Capacity Building:
He leads capacity-building efforts in the ENHANCE Programme (NIHR-funded), supporting mental health research in South Asia through training and curriculum development.
