Strengthening Mental Health Collaboration: PILL and Ziauddin University Visit PIMH

Prof. Imran Chaudhry (HOD Psychiatry, Ziauddin University) and Dr. Tayyeba Kiran (Assistant Director, PILL) visited the Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH) for a meeting with its Director, Dr. Saqib Bajwa. PIMH is the largest and oldest mental health facility in South Asia, offering comprehensive psychiatric care through both inpatient and outpatient services, while also serving as a center for training and research for mental health professionals. During the discussion, Dr. Bajwa shared his vision of transforming PIMH into a more patient- and community-friendly institution. He highlighted innovative initiatives such as developing learning hubs, creating tree houses, and launching other creative projects designed to promote recovery, education, and overall well-being.
