Defeat Cancer Session With Nursing Institute conducted by PILL Nawabshah

On 27 April 2026, Ishrat Husain Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL), Shaheed Benazirabad team conducted a Breast Cancer Awareness Session at Bhittai Institute of Nursing, SBA, under the Moving on ABC Project.
The session aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasize the importance of early detection through Breast Self-Examination (BSE), and highlight mental health support for patients and survivors. Nursing students and faculty members actively participated and showed great interest throughout the session.
Ms. Tanzeela Sardar and Ms. Aasia Sain Bux delivered informative presentations on the signs and symptoms, risk factors, and preventive strategies related to breast cancer. The session included interactive discussions and a question-and-answer segment, making it engaging and informative.
A dedicated component of the session focused on the mental health and psychosocial well-being of breast cancer patients and survivors. Participants were sensitized to the emotional challenges commonly faced by patients, including anxiety, depression, fear of recurrence, and social stigma. The facilitators emphasized the importance of providing empathetic care, active listening, and emotional support to patients throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
During the activity, 45 Defeat Cancer Champions and Assessors were successfully recruited, reflecting strong participant commitment toward promoting awareness in their communities.
The Principal, Mr. Abdul Jabbar, appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of PILL in spreading awareness not only within the institution but also across the wider community.
