Rawalpindi: Defeat Cancer Champions initiative held in Women University
Alhamdulillah, a successful job fair was held at Rawalpindi Women University under the “Defeat Cancer Champions” initiative. A total of 45 students from different departments including Psychology, Sociology, Zoology, Physics, Statistics, and Mathematics registered themselves as Champions and voluntarily pledged to support our program for the well-being and psychosocial support of breast cancer patients and their families.
In addition, 22 students from the 8th semester of the Psychology Department submitted their CVs to join our program as interns and facilitators. Their enthusiasm and willingness to contribute towards community mental health and cancer support is highly appreciated.
During the event, we also identified two breast cancer patients from students families. They shared their contact details and will provide permission for further communication and support through our program.
The event also provided a valuable opportunity to introduce our organization and its mission to other organizations, the Director of Student Affairs, and faculty members from different departments. Our program and its purpose for promoting the well-being, emotional support, and awareness of breast cancer patients were highly appreciated by all attendees.
