Peshawar Breast Cancer-Defeat Cancer Initiative in Community With LHWs.

Under the Moving on ABC (NIHR 205561) Defeat Cancer Initiative, a Breast Cancer Awareness and Breast Self-Examination (BSE) Training Session was conducted on 4 September 2026 at RHC Regi, Peshawar.

The session was attended by 13 Lady Health Workers (LHWs) and 1 Lady Health Supervisor (LHS). The training focused on BSE, recognition of breast cancer warning signs, and the importance of timely referral.

The team also held a meeting with the Medical Officer (MO) and Gynaecologist, who expressed their support and assured cooperation in facilitating project-related awareness, referral, and community engagement activities.

The trained LHWs and LHS will support community-level breast cancer awareness and BSE promotion and facilitate the identification and recruitment of potential participants for the Moving on ABC project.
