Breast Cancer training & Awareness session held with LHWs Peshawar

Under the Moving on ABC Project (NIHR-205561), PILL Peshawar ‘Moving on ABC ‘ team organised an awareness session on Breast Cancer at RHC Budhei -Wadpaga Peshawar, as part of the Defeat Cancer Campaign. The session was conducted for Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) and Lady Health Workers (LHWs), where participants were oriented on the objectives of the programme, with particular emphasis on their meaningful role in community-based awareness, early detection, and prevention of breast cancer. As part of the initiative, 32 Lady Health Workers received hands-on training in Breast Self-Examination (BSE). Following the training, the LHWs will conduct door-to-door household visits to educate women on correct breast self-examination techniques, with each LHW expected to visit approximately ten households per day to raise awareness and help identify potential cases within the community.
During the session, three number of breast cancer survivors were referred by the LHWs.
