From Policy to Action: Advancing Mental Health Care in Sindh

On 22–23 October 2026, the Policy Research Unit of Pakistan Institute of Living & Learning (PILL), in collaboration with the University of Manchester, convened a two-day Mental Health Policy Implementation Roundtable in Karachi, bringing together government departments, health institutions and development partners to strengthen mental health care across Sindh.

Discussions focused on translating policy into practice through district-level mental health focal persons, stronger referral pathways, community awareness, youth engagement, professional training and accountable monitoring. Building on the IAPT-PK programme, stakeholders committed to coordinated action towards accessible, sustainable and integrated mental health services.

Mental health is a shared responsibility. There is no health without mental health.
