High Intensity CBT Training Session held in Psychology Department, University of Peshawar

Under the Moving on After Breast Cancer (ABC) Plus Project, an initiative of Defeat Breast Cancer, Dr. Tayyaba Kiran, Associate Program Director – ABC Plus Project, successfully delivered a two-day High Intensity Intervention Training at the Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar.

A total of 19 MPhil and PhD students participated in the training and received culturally adapted, high-intensity CBT-based intervention skills to support breast cancer survivors facing depression, anxiety, and treatment-related psychological concerns. The participants showed great enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the sessions.

Dr. Sumaiya, Chairperson and Head of the Department of Psychology, appreciated the efforts of the PILL team and thanked them for bringing this important initiative to the university. She also offered her full support and collaboration to further strengthen and expand this work in the future.
Through this initiative, the ABC Plus Project continues to promote mental health support, early psychosocial interventions, and hope for women affected by breast cancer across Pakistan.
