Lahore World Breast Cancer Research Day -Data Saves Lives Tomorrow , observed in LGU.

Pakistan Institute of Living & Learning (PILL), under its NIHR-funded Moving on After Breast Cancer (ABC) Research Programme (NIHR 205561), observed World Breast Cancer Research Day 2026 on 20 August 2026 at Lahore Garrison University (LGU), Lahore.

Under the theme “Data Saves Lives – Evidence Today, Better Outcomes Tomorrow,” the event brought together health professionals, researchers, clinicians, academics, students, and emerging researchers to highlight the importance of cancer research, reliable data, cancer registries, and evidence-based care.

The event featured presentations and discussions on cancer research, breast cancer burden, psychosocial care, awareness, screening, research networks, and the role of data and digitalisation in strengthening cancer care. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Vice Chancellor Khalil Ahmed Daar, Prof. Nusrat Husain and Mrs. Afshan Qureshi, Ms Uzma Omer, Prof Dr Nashi Khan, Dr Cheema, Prof Dr Shaheena Asif, Dr Ali Razzaque, Prof Dr Rafia Rafiq, Prof Dr Uzma Ashiq, Dr Sadaf, Dr Syed Ali Hussain, Faculty of Lahore Garrison University along with researchers, academia, students, and other participants.

The event was supervised by Dr Nida Zafar HOD Psychology Department LGU and Dr. Noor ul Zaman Rafiq, Director Research Administration & Engagement (Punjab), PILL, with Ms. Sana Nazir and Ms. Hamna Maqeet serving as Event Organisers. Their coordination and support contributed to the successful planning and implementation of the event.

The event concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening cancer research, promoting the use of reliable data and evidence, and translating research findings into better cancer care and health outcomes.
