Peshawar GCEI Member Participated In CEI Toolkit Workshop Of CONTROL Project funded by Keele University UK
PILL Peshawar, represented by *Mian Atiq Ur Rehman, Lead of the National Community Development Workforce*, participated in the *CEI* *Toolkit* *Consultative* Workshop for *Contextualized* *Community* *Engagement* for Pakistan.
The Toolkit was developed under the ”
Cognitive Theory for Depression in TuberculosisTreatment (*CONTROL) Program”* and will serve as the future framework for *CEI/PPIE* across Global Health Research programs in Pakistan ,according to key speaker Prof.Dr.Abdul Jalil (KMU.) The project is being funded by *NIHR-UK, Keele University UK, and KMU Pakistan*.
As a member of *GCEI*, Mian Atiq was invited to provide inputs for the CEI Toolkit. He also delivered a presentation on the CEI dissemination plan and explained the role of the *GCEI framework* in global community engagement and development.
He narrated the valuable contributions of GCEI senior management — *Dr. Rakhshi Memon, Prof. Dr. Zainab, Dr. Noor Zaman, and Dr. Tayyaba Kiran* — in the development of the GCEI group.
*Dr. Maryam*, Communication Manager of CONTROL, and *Dr. Zohaib*, Director ORIC-KMU, acknowledged and appreciated PILL’s mental health services and the role of GCEI in advancing community engagement in Pakistan. They expressed hope that the adoption of the CONTROL Program’s CEI Toolkit will be highly valuable for community development in Pakistan.
*Prof. Dr. Saeed Farooqi*, Director of Research at Keele University UK and Director of the CONTROL Project, also spoke on strengthening collaboration among organizations working on community engagement and research for the broader benefit of communities.
